Whistler Summer Concert Series - Sep 01, 2012
Date: Saturday, September 01, 2012
Time: 8:30PM
Where: Whistler Olympic Plaza
The Whistler Summer Concert Series features
five different musical acts this weekend all brought to you by the
Village of Whistler.
Starting the weekend concert series off is Montreal's
Vince Vaccaro. Fresh off his massive hit 'Costa Rica' this
indie rocker is set to take the stage at 8:30PM. Following
Vaccaro is Hamilton based band Blackie and the Rodeo
Kings. This Canadian folk rock band is set to hit the
stage at 9:15PM.
On Saturday night Vancouver based band The Boom Booms
get things started off at 8:30PM. The second show of the
night features a home coming of sorts as former local
Whistlerite Kytami takes the stage at 9:15PM to play for her old
home town.
Wrapping things up on Sunday night is hip hop artist
Emmanuel Jal. Jal's personal story is one of both tragedy
and triumph as this Sudanese resident grew up as child in the
middle of war. However after falling in love with hip hop he has
managed to make quite the name for himself in the music industry;
while at the same time serving as a loyal activist against the use
of children in his war torn country of Sudan. Jal is set to take
the stage Sunday night at 8:30PM.
Make sure to catch all the FREE shows this weekend at
Whistler's Olympic Plaza Stage.
