Join us for the 24th Annual Pemberton Valley Loppet this Sunday, February 10. The Loppet is a 12KM traditional cross country skiing race.
The Loppet traditionally takes place up the Pemberton Meadows about 16KM outside of the Village of Pemberton. This year's course will begin at the Ronayne Farm and wind through several private properties whose owners have graciously permitted the use of their lands for this long-running event. The event will finish by coming through the Van Loon property and end near the Lillooet Forestry Bridge.
Competitors will follow a 12KM groomed track that runs through fields, along dykes and through forests. It's important to note that there are no course marshals or signs. The track is the only thing you need to follow in order to complete the race.
The race will take place this Sunday beginning at 10AM. Sign in and bib pick up will take place from 9AM - 9:45AM at the Ronayne Farm.
The event can be registered for online at www.zone4.ca or on the day of the race. Late fees will be applied if registered for on the day of the race.
Child (under 13) $10
Youth (14 - 19) $15
All youth participants are given a prize ticket at the finish line and can choose an item from the prize table.
Lunch and Awards
There will be a potluck style lunch served after the race at the Coast Mountain Outdoor School at 12PM. The site is located about 1.5KM from the finish line. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category.
The Ronayne Farm is located approximately 16KM up the Pemberton Valley. Take the turn off for the Valley in town and continue to follow the road until you see the Pemberton Loppet turn off sign on the left hand side of the road.
Looking for winter accommodations?
The Pemberton Valley Lodge is located just a 25 minute drive north of Whistler Village. This small town turns into a winter activities destination during the cold months.
