Mountain Bikers Flock to Nimby Fifty 2012
Pemberton has an extensive network of world-class mountain bike trails. Pemberton is fast becoming an ultimate destination for mountain bikers. Once you have experienced riding the trails here, you will see why Pemberton is such an amazing place to ride!
The network of trails has grown over the last few years thanks to the volunteers at the Pemberton Valley Trails Association. Recent projects on trails include the JTR, Owl Connector, Nimby, Middle Earth and more. Pemberton trail maps can now be purchased online. Partial proceeds go to fund maintenance and future trail expansion.
Experience this Epic Pemberton Mountain Bike Race
The Nimby Fifty Mountain Bike Race is a technical marathon xc race that highlights the incredible trails in Pemberton. This will be the third annual event and takes place on Saturday, May 26. The race follows a number of single track trails including lots of Pemberton's famous climbs and descent.
101 Switchbacks!
The race is open to just 400 riders and starts at 11 am sharp. The start and finish line is at North Arm Farm and racers are encouraged to check in early between 8 am and 10 am. The course is approximately 40kms in length and last year's winner completed the race in 2 hours and 20 minutes. The race starts out with 2km of paved road, followed by 2 km ride on a gravel road. Riders will then follow Radio Tower and Happy Trail before climbing up Big Nimby. Big Nimby is a long 11.2km ascent with 101 switchbacks. The course then follows a great descent down Overnight Sensation. Next, the course heads over to the Mosquito Lake area and follows trails including Econoline, No ERR, Ramble On, Moby Dick and Dark Forest. The race ends at North Arm Farm.
Stay around for the After Party
After the race, stay around for food, refreshments, music and awards at the After Party. There will also be a fun Mini-Nimby race for kids aged 6 years and under.
