Pemberton Golf Course Profile: The Meadows Golf Course

The Meadows at Pemberton is all about focusing on one thing, Fun. Sometimes when playing this crazy game we forget this but at The Meadows the staff is there to remind us four hours on the course is always better than four hours at the office.
The Meadows also features the most reasonable rates in the Pemberton & Whistler area. Depending on what time of year or what time of the day you go out you can often play 18 with a cart for around $50. Try spending $50 at any of the other courses in the area and you've probably just paid you and your buddies lunch tab.
But a deal isn't the only thing great about the course it's also the playability and beauty of the course that often gets forgotten. A completely underrated track the Meadows at Pemberton is always in great condition and features a simple yet stern course design playable by players of all levels.
There's a reason they say meadows on the front nine
and forest on the back. That's because front nine and back nine are
two completely different courses. The front nine the
easier of the two is wide open off the tee with most of the trouble
coming from water hazards. The first nine holes are where you want
to do your scoring but don't think you're just going to breeze
through without any challenges. Hole 1 & 2 both run along the
forest and feature water off the tee so it's imperative to get out
of there around par in order to keep your round low. Also hole 6 is
a 240 yard par 3 that has bogey or worse written all over it if
you're not careful. As long as you negotiate these 3 holes and stay
out of the water on the front most of the challenges left to the
back nine.
So you've survived the front 9 well know your reward is a tricky forested back 9. The back 9 winds its way through woods which means being straight off the tee is of the essence. Every hole features trees on one side of the fairway if not both, if you have to club down to keep it in play do it. Hole 12 has often been called one of the toughest holes in the Sea to Sky because of its elevated tee that rejects any shot off line and tight fairway off the tee-box. Every par 3 on the course is tough but holes 13 and 17 are both over 170 yards from the back tee and feature trees and saucer greens that reject bad shots into the woods. The back 9 can be scored well however if I haven't pounded it home yet you must keep it straight off the tee in order to stay out of the woods.
The Meadows at Pemberton rests at the bottom of majestic Mount Currie Mountain and features some of the most spectacular views you will ever encounter. Whether your strolling up number one fairway or sitting on the back deck of the clubhouse 360 degree mountain views surround you every where you are. The friendly staff at The Meadows always greet you with a smile and the restaurant attached to the course features mouth watering meals for golfers and guests looking for great eats. For the price The Meadows is often called the best deal in the Sea to Sky so make sure to give this course a look next time you're in town.
