For your first time you will be strapped to your instructor's chest. At the beginning of the flight the two of you well be required to run off the launch hill together for takeoff. After you have successfully launched you will have a bird eye view of the beautiful Pemberton Valley and its surrounding areas. This really is one of the best ways to take in the area as you and your instructor fly high above the valley for an estimated time of 15 to 20 minutes depending on the wind.
The cost of a tandem flight is $179 and includes pickup and transport from the town of Pemberton to the launch site about 20 minutes away. At the launch site you will be briefed on the safety procedures and run through the proper take off techniques. After that you and your pilot will suit up and fly away. It is important to note that flights are 100% weather dependent. If you choose to make an appointment in advance, which is recommended, you are required to check in the day before or the morning of your flight with the company to make sure your flight is a go. The safety and well being of you and the pilot supersedes everything else meaning poor weather conditions can result in postponed or cancelled flights. Also it is best to book in the mornings around 10 AM as this is the best time to fly due to the prevailing winds.
