Pemberton B.C is fast becoming a paragliding hot bed in Canada. After recently hosting the Canadian Paragliding Nationals the world became aware of what most locals already know, Pemberton is an amazing place to paraglide. The town of Pemberton lies in a natural valley which is surrounded by a 360 degree mountain range. The surrounding mountain ranges provide ideal locations to launch a paraglider and the flat valley below provides many ideal places to land. It's no wonder Pemberton is fast building a reputation as a must visit for paragliding enthusiasts.

If you are interested in paragliding during your visit to Pemberton but have yet to try it before Cayoosh Expeditions is your one stop shop for everything you need. Run by world renowned paraglider Jim Orava and his wife Corinne Stoltz-Orava this paragliding crazed couple have been running their local business since 1993. Between the two of them they have over 40 years experience in the sport and are the perfect instructors to guide you on your paragliding experience.

As mentioned earlier if you are new to the sport of paragliding you will be required to fly as a tandem pair with a certified instructor. For your first time you will be strapped to your instructor's chest. At the beginning of the flight the two of you well be required to run off the launch hill together for takeoff. After you have successfully launched you will have a bird eye view of the beautiful Pemberton Valley and its surrounding areas. This really is one of the best ways to take in the area as you and your instructor fly high above the valley for an estimated time of 15 to 20 minutes depending on the wind.

The cost of a tandem flight is $179 and includes pickup and transport from the town of Pemberton to the launch site about 20 minutes away. At the launch site you will be briefed on the safety procedures and run through the proper take off techniques. After that you and your pilot will suit up and fly away. It is important to note that flights are 100% weather dependent. If you choose to make an appointment in advance, which is recommended, you are required to check in the day before or the morning of your flight with the company to make sure your flight is a go. The safety and well being of you and the pilot supersedes everything else meaning poor weather conditions can result in postponed or cancelled flights. Also it is best to book in the mornings around 10 AM as this is the best time to fly due to the prevailing winds.

If you are interested in booking a flight with Cayoosh Expeditions than you can visit their website or contact them directly by phone at (604) 894-5502.
