Ice Fishing Pemberton

It's that time of the year the lakes have frozen over allowing for some great ice fishing opportunities. Many of Pemberton's local lakes including gates, mosquito and black water lake are frozen solid. Thanks to the recent mild winter conditions the weather has been very pleasurable allowing you to fish all day in winter appropriate clothing. If colder conditions roll around the use of an ice hut may be permitted.
During the winter months the most common fish to catch in our local lakes are rainbow, bull and cutthroat trout. Many of the local trout can reach upwards of 10lbs.
The ice fishing process consists of drilling an 8 - 10 inch hole in the ice and dropping you're lure. The process sounds simple enough but knowing where the fish are, what lake to choose and what lure is hitting can be quite the process.
That's why we always recommend going with a trusted guide or someone who knows the area. Stepping on to a lake that you know nothing about is very silly and downright dangerous.
Luckily that's where the boys from Pemberton Fish Finder can help you out. This family run business has been operating in Pemberton for decades and knows everything there is to know about fishing the local area.
The boys at Pemberton Fish Finder provide guided ice fishing tours daily. Even if you don't choose to book a tour with them it's always a good idea to stop by their shop Spud Valley Sports to hit them up for some friendly local advice.
They can tell you what lakes are currently frozen and what lures are hitting. For more information on ice fishing in Pemberton visit the Pemberton Fish Finder website. Or if you're looking to book a tour with a trusted local guide contact them toll free at 1-877-905-8121.
*Remember never walk onto a lake until you know 100% it's frozen and can support your weight. Always contact the boys at Pemberton Fish Finder our talk to our lovely staff at the front desk to find out more information on lake conditions.
