Nimby Fifty Bike Race 2013

The Nimby Fifty Bike Race takes place this Saturday, May 25. The race is a 40KM trek through the single-track mountain bike trails and along the valley floor. This isn't your typical start at the top finish at the bottom course, racers must endure cross-country rides along the valley floor, climbs up the local mountains and of course the decent that follow.
This event has become more and more popular every year and attracts world class talent from far and wide. Only 450 spots are available for this race and as of now a few spots are still available. Cost for the event is $85 and includes entry into the race, prizes and post-race meal and beverage.
Riders can compete in a number of categories ranging from 14-20 all the way to a 70+ division. There is also a men's and woman's Pro/Elite category which offers $1000 up to the winners.
Race time starts at 11AM sharp at North Arm Farm located 5 minutes down the road towards Mount Currie. There will be signs leading to the farm on the day of the event.
Spectators are welcome to come out and watch the racers strut their stuff. The best option is to show up to North Arm Farm where you can talk to race officials who can tell you the best place to set up shop.
Following the race there will be an After Party at North Arm Farm. Organic gourmet BBQ styled food (including veggie option) will be on the menu, along with beer and other beverages. Later on that night there will be fires and the musical styling of Papa Josh. Make sure to bring warm clothes if you plan on partying into the night.
For more information on the event head on over to the Nimby Fifty website.
