Pemberton Distillery Tour
One of the most popular things to do while visiting Pemberton is to take the tasting tour at the Pemberton Distillery. This small distillery is located in Pemberton's Industrial Park district about 5 minutes away from town.
What makes the Pemberton Distillery so unique is the fact that they only use certified organic potatoes and since its inception in 2009 the Pemberton Distillery has quickly built itself a reputation as a world class spirit producer. It's best known and most popular product their Schramm Vodka has won several awards including 'Spirit of the Year' at the World Spirit Awards held in Austria.
glacier fed water as their main ingredients. These two things run abundant in Pemberton and are the reason the Schramm family decided Pemberton was the perfect place to start a distillery.
Along with vodka the Pemberton Distillery also produces gin, whisky, brandy and absinthe. All of distilleries spirits are brewed by master distiller Tyler Schramm who earned his master's thesis in Brewing & Distilling at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland, a world leader in the field.
Take the Distillery Tour
The Pemberton Distillery is open from Wednesday to Saturday, 12PM - 6PM. During these hours you can take a tasting tour of all their products in their retail shop. If you want to take ultra popular distillery tour you can only do this on a Saturday beginning at 4PM. The full distillery tour takes about 30 minutes and costs $5. The tour which is led by master distiller Tyler Schramm includes a walk through of the process of creating their organically certified spirits. This tour has been ranked as the #1 activity to do while visiting Pemberton by Tripadvisor.ca.
Getting There
As we previously mentioned the Pemberton Distillery is located in the Pemberton Industrial Park. The park is located about a 5 minute drive from town towards the community of Mount Currie. Once your on highway 99 heading towards Mount Currie you will see a large newly constructed pine building on your left, this is your first clue to slow down. Take a left hand turn at the Industrial Park sign and continue straight down the road for about one minute. Near the end of the road sits the Pemberton Distillery building on the right hand side.
