Embracing Fall Time in Pemberton
Fall is in the air and Pemberton has turned into a colourful collage of freshly fallen leaves and frosted mountains. Check out our favorite things that come with living in Pemberton during the fall.
#1) Picking Pumpkins at North Arm Farm
Nothing says fall quite like picking freshly grown pumpkins from the farm. Right now North Arm Farm is open for pumpkin picking business seven days a week from 9AM to 6PM. The farm has all your pumpkin needs covered including a number of different sized options. Grab from your choice of big decorative pumpkins best for making jack-o-lanterns or smaller sugar pumpkins best for making pies and sweets. The farm also offers wagon rides every Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 3 PM.
#2) Take a Hike around One Mile
One of the best ways to enjoy the fall weather this time of year is to take a walk/hike around the One Mile Lake trail. The cool breeze and amazing fall colours can really be enjoyed at the water's edge. If you live in town or you're staying at the Pemberton Valley Lodge the lake is only a few minutes away giving you no excuse to get outside and check it out. The One Mile Lake trail only takes about 25 minutes to walk around and is a great outing for the family, couple or even by yourself.
#3) Horseback Riding
Looking to explore some of Pemberton's back country scenery in a cool and unique way - why not check out a horseback riding tour? As a long time Pemberton resident I'm always reminded how beautiful our town is when someone is revealing to me a new side of our community. This is the exact experience that one gets when they take a tour with a local guide on horseback. Back trails that you never knew existed appear and new and exciting views of the mountain ranges and valley floor begin to reveal themselves. For more information on how to book a horseback tour of Pemberton swing on over to the Tourism Pemberton website.
#4) Enjoy the Freshly Minted Mountains
No need to go far to enjoy this Pemberton perk! There's something very special about the first snow fall on the peaks of Mount Currie and the surrounding mountain ranges. Besides being absolutely breath taking to see it also lets us know that old man winter is on his way.
#5) Snow Season is Almost Upon Us!
The arrival of fall also means that winter is almost here. For those that get their kicks on skis, boards and sleds this is the most exciting time of the year. The run up to the winter season brings with it the anticipation of the first day on the hill with your favourite toy.
