Embracing Winter in Pemberton When You're Not in the Backcountry

A lot of people come to Pemberton to have an epic backcountry adventure but not everyone is into those types of activities. Pemberton has a lot to offer for every type of person and there are many things that you can do while you are in town. We've compiled a list of some of our favourite things to do when you're not exploring the depths of our backyard or waiting for your friend/family to come back from their journey.

Ice Skating in Pemberton

There many great lakes that freeze so beautifully that you just have to ice skate on them. For example, there is One Mile Lake, Birkenhead Lake, Gates Lake, and Mosquito Lake that people are already out having a great time on. When it's cold in Pemberton and there isn't much snow, this is the ideal time to dig out your skates. You can go with the family, shoot the puck around or even teach little ones one of our favourite Canadian activities. Remember to be safe and wear a helmet and don't forget to pack your skates!

Pemberton & District Public Library

A cozy and warm spot in town is the Pemberton & District Public Library. Not only do they have Wi-Fi but also they have computers that you can use. There are books and magazines galore! Not only do they have reading, watching and listening materials, they also hold events that you can learn more about on their website. Oh, and they are also open on Sundays!

Pemberton Spa

Do you feel like relaxing and being pampered? Ivy Esthetics is the place you want to be. They are the local spa in Pemberton and have magical massage chairs that you can sit in while getting a pedicure. They don't offer actual massages but they offer other fantastic services such as manicures, facials, makeup application and more. They can be very busy so it's best to try and make an appointment ahead of time.

Pemberton Fitness Studio

Want to work up a sweat but don't want to go outdoors? We have a fitness studio that our guests can use which is located on the main floor. There is a private change room along with showers available with towels and a hair dryer and bathroom amenities. The weights and cardio equipment include: a multi-station weight training machine, free weights, elliptical trainer, and treadmill equipment. Guests can also relax in our steam room and hot tub.

Photo Walk in Pemberton

Winter in Pemberton is quite breathtaking and if you have the opportunity, you should go on a photo walk.

We have many great trails that are easy to navigate and walk around inspire great photography. All you need is either a camera or a phone with a camera and the ambition to capture the beauty of Pemberton.

The trail around One Mile Lake is beautiful and so is Nairn Falls (frozen or not), which is just south of Pemberton.

Remember to dress warm and charge your battery so you can be out there for a while.

How do you like to spend your time in Pemberton when you're not in the backcountry?
