Have Dinner at Solfeggio:
You will need to
plan in advance a bit for this one, but with a 3-course
dinner at only $39, we think this is a steal. Call Solfeggio to reserve tickets at 1-604-384-5556.
And though the food is always fabulous at Solfeggio, on Valentine's
they are serving up something really special: The dinner will be
presented by a guest chef, none other than Stefan Vagelatos of the
Brew Creek Centre, winner of the 2013 Whistler Chef's
Challenge.
Here is what we think you should do:
You'll finish work at 5:00 or 5:30. Arrive home, grab your Valentine Sweetheart and head over to the Lodge. Check-in. Shower, get ready for dinner, have a glass of bubbly on us.
Make your way over to Solfeggio, arriving in time for a quick drink before seating at 7:00. Enjoy your dinner, which will be incredible. Stare into each other's eyes and remember why this person in front of you is so very dear to you. You may excuse yourself for the washroom to shed a small tear. By the time they serve up the Chocolate Hazelnut Panna Cotta and Vanilla Bean Cashew Cheesecake, you are smitten. You always were smitten, but sometimes life gets so busy, you forget.
And, you know, eventually, you'll make your way back to the Lodge. Hot tub, another glass of bubbly maybe, a little chocolate...
Next Morning, Depending on the Weather...
Why not go on an epic mountain bike ride that will make you feel completely, utterly alive? If only for the name of this ride, we suggest you head over to "Hawaii" and come back feeling glad that you are alive.
If the weather has finally and utterly changed over to winter (as it looks like it is finally doing) we'll let you choose between staying indoors all day long, going for a quick cross country ski, or just a nice walk along the Sea-to-Sky trail.
We're thinking strawberry ice cream for dinner and then who knows? Stay one more night with us, come home Sunday morning, late, and you'll be so in love it'll carry you through till next Valentine's Day. Well, maybe not that long...
