Pemberton Loves You Gotta Eat Here
Mile One Eating House Gets Some Well-Deserved Kudos
Because of the recent filming of You Gotta Eat Here, a Vancouver based national television show which highlights "Canada's most delicious, mouthwatering, over-the-top comfort food." The host, John Cattuci, "dives into the kitchens to find out what makes these signature recipes so damn good."
Says the show's website: "Health food? Not on this show, baby. Bring on the cheese, bacon and barbecue!"
Pemberton Valley's own David MacKenzie was on site, commenting later, "Hard to believe I ate all the wild and tame mac n cheese at 10 in the morning!" But we know it was delicious, David, and you enjoyed every bite!
We posted the blog onto Pemberton Valley Lodge's Facebook account, and the comments and likes started to pour in. Twenty-eight "likes" later, here's what Pembertonians had to say:
Nadine Morton had this to say, "Congratulations to all of you! Great place full of awesome people!"
We agree wholeheartedly. There are many great places to eat in Pemberton, but certainly, for hearty, farm-to-table comfort food, Mile One deserves the spotlight.
Bob Sutton chimed in with "Awesome stuff!" to cheer on the Mile One team as they served up their famous Pemberton staples for the Vancouver host of the show, John Cattuci.
Nidhi Rania said what everyone else is thinking: "Love it! Best burgers in town!" -- And, of course, those would be homegrown from Pemberton Meadows Beef.
And thank you Donna Willis, for this shout out: "We loved our meal there! Certainly plan on going back!" We couldn't agree more.
Mile One stands at that nexus between being one of Pemberton's best known places to go for comfort food and being one of many great restaurants in town.
We're so happy for them, and, as we told Lori Hessler, who asked "Does anyone know when (the episode) comes out?"
We'll keep you posted. Stay tuned.
