Pemberton Gingerbread Project 2015: Thank You!
The Pemberton Gingerbread Project was a huge success again this year, with $8,504.80 raised in cash and 17 hampers of food collected during the fundraiser.
Thank You to All Who Participated
The entire Pemberton community again came out to do their part this year, and we cannot thank you all enough. From all the businesses and individuals who raised money or donated food, to the participants who slaved away in their kitchens designing and creating some serious gingerbread-craft. It was all so appreciated. We're still basking in the warmth this shared community experience created.
The funds raised this year topped $8500, and with 17 full hampers of food donated by community members, our community helped ensure that no Pemberton families will go hungry this winter.
Gingerbread Creations Outstanding
The combined creativity and baking prowess of Pemberton business owners ensured yet another stiff competition this year. The gingerbread creations get more and more inspired each year, with local business owners doing their best to create a gingerbread "house" to be remembered.
This year was no exception, and Ogre Acre Farms took home the "People's Choice" award for best creation. We're so thankful for all the time and creative energy the local community devotes to this project. We come together, have fun, and those in need are helped.
It's a simple reminder of what's really important in this holiday season, and we're especially grateful to our community for all your support. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing what you come up with next year.
Scotia Bank Matching Funds
We'd like to say a special "Thank you" to Scotia Bank for contributing the generous donation of matching the funds we as a community raised this year. The generosity of their gift ensured that this year's contribution to the Pemberton Food Bank will keep many families fed this winter. Thank you to all who contributed, from local business owners to community members who donated cash and food and voted for their favourite gingerbread creation.
