Being Greens the Way to Be

Here at the Pemberton Valley Lodge we take great pride in being as environmentally sustainable as possible. This starts with our in-house staff training and green initiatives program.
In-house, the Lodge has overhauled our recycling program including placing bins in every room, replacing all lights with power saving LED lights and installing power saving thermostats and light timers in every room. We also practice green housekeeping tactics including encouraging our guests to hang their towels after use and sending all used soaps and shampoos to the Clean the World Program. This Vancouver-based company takes in half used soaps and shampoo bottles, then cleans and repackages them so they can be distributed to third world countries.
Recently the Lodge has installed a composting bin to reduce the amount of content collected in local landfill operations.
Keeping our power usage under control is very important to us, but so is where we buy our power from. That's why we've partnered with Bullfrog Power Canada's 100% green energy provider. Bullfrog utilizes energy drawn from low-impact hydro-power generators who are EocLogo certified or meet a similar standard or program.
Bullfrog ensures that as much clean, renewable energy is injected onto the respective energy system as your facility uses, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and pollution in our atmosphere.
The Lodge continues to find ways to reduce our environmental footprint and have made it a part of our mission going forward.
Thanks to our efforts the Lodge has been recognized by a number of Green Tourism awards. This includes being rated as a Five key award winner on the Green Key Eco-Rating Program, achieving platinum status on the TripAdvisor GreenLeaders program and being a certified member of the Green Tourism Canada certificate program.
