Where is Pemberton? Glad You Asked — We're Easy to Find
Pemberton, British Columbia is many things: The Gateway to the Backcountry, Where Adventure Lives, "Near Whistler" and, as of last summer, Home to the Pemberton Music Festival.
We relish the fact that Pemberton is a gem to those in the know. Maybe not as "on the map" as New York City or Disneyland, but if you're someone who loves the backcountry, road cycling, potatoes or great music, well - there's a chance you know how good things are just north of Whistler.
Where is Pemberton - Follow Our Handy Directions
We're going to discuss where Pemberton is in relation to some landmarks around us, but if you stopped by for driving directions, we don't want to disappoint you. Hop on over to our Getting There page and you'll find everything you need. By the way, we've also got a great page on the weather here, too, in case that's helpful.
Where is Pemberton? Just North of Whistler
That's the easy answer. We're literally a 20-minute drive past Whistler, and that is how many people have discovered us. Whistler can be a busy, overcrowded village sometimes, and here we are, a quick 20-minute drive north on a lovely drivable highway. Entering the village, you literally drive into a micro climate that is sunnier, warmer and gentler than Whistler. The valley opens up ahead of you and the expansive feeling is tangible.
Pemberton - Gateway to the Backcountry
Many people discover where we are when they're looking for an adventure tourism vacation and find out that Pemberton is a veritable hub. From Pemberton, you can go sledding on the Pemberton Ice Cap, skydiving from Pemberton Airport, horseback riding, touring, hang gliding, whitewater rafting. Honestly, the list is nearly endless. We're a quiet village with lots going on around us.
Pemberton Music Festival - Where it's Happening
Last summer, the Pemberton Music Festival came together and took place in July. Back again for another epic show, this festival has again put Pemberton on the map. Taking place in fields where visitors can camp and have a great time as they listen to the bands, the music festival has made Pemberton an even more popular summer destination.
We think it's great that so many people have found our village because of the festival and are looking forward to lots of repeat guests as people discover that there is so much more going on than a quick 4 day festival.
Road Cycling Hub for the Pemberton Meadows and Beyond
Another way people discover where Pemberton is located is through our destination as a training ground for road cyclists. The cycling portion of the Subaru Triathlon goes through Pemberton, and since this event began, more and more people have found our village as an excellent place to train for their cycling.
