5 Things You Must Do in Pemberton Before Summer is Over
It's that time of the year. Temperatures are dropping and days are getting shorter. However, all's not lost. We still have some warm sunny days in the forecast. So before the fall weather officially takes over here are five summer activities to check out soon!
1. Take a Hike in the Pemberton Valley
It's time to take that last summer hike of the season! If you are looking for a quick opportunity to stretch your legs, hike to Nairn Falls. Located just a few minutes south of the Village of Pemberton this hike only takes 40 minutes round trip and offers amazing views of the Nairn Falls.
For full day hikes why not check out Tenquille Lake or Joffre Lake? A hike to Tenquille Lake offers spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountain ranges. And because it's not always the "go to" pick for hiking in the Pemberton Valley the trails often aren't busy and this results in a very quiet, peaceful hike. But be warned: the hike to Tenquille is an all-day affair with some 4x4 access needed to reach the trailhead.
If you are "into" hiking can you go a whole summer without hiking Joffre Lake? This great hike offers spectacular views of the three Joffre Lakes and the Joffre Glacier. The most popular tourist destination in the Pemberton area Joffre Lake is a "must do" activity before the summer is over.
2. Swing the Clubs in Pemberton
Late summer is our favorite time to get out for a round of golf in Pemberton at either The Meadows at Pemberton or Big Sky Golf Course. The lower temperatures of late summer make for a comfortable round of golf and typically offer excellent course conditions. Another bonus is that golf fees are usually a little cheaper this time of the year. With two amazing golf courses to choose from sometimes, it's better not to choose between the two courses and just play both!
3. Visit Pemberton Valley Farms
The Pemberton Valley has several farms you can stop in at and pick up fresh vegetables and other farm products year-round. With the end of summer, several local Pemberton farms will be offering their last harvest of the summer season. Two of the most popular farms open to the public include North Arm Farm and Across the Creeks Organics. Both farms offer fresh produce for sale straight from their fields. North Arm Farm also offers farm tours and a children's animal area.
4. Go for a Bike Ride in Pemberton
Pemberton is a biking community! Choose from mountain biking, road biking or cruising on your beach cruiser bike. The best mountain biking in the Pemberton Valley typically happens in early spring or late summer and fall. Cooler temperatures and more moisture make the trails "tacky" offering better traction for your bike. Late summer is also a great time of the year to fit in one last ride up the valley or along the Pemberton back roads on your road or cruiser bike. By the looks of things, we're going to get some sunny skies this weekend. So why not pack up the bikes and head up to Pemberton for a cruise? If you are a staying with us at the Pemberton Valley Lodge, we offer a Complimentary Bike Program, and this includes FREE use of mountain bikes for guests.
5. Spend a Day at a Pemberton Area Lake
Pemberton is home to many amazing lakes offering tremendous opportunities for swimming, boating or fishing. We suggest you check out One Mile Lake if you just want to lounge around the beach all day. If you are heading to Pemberton and area with a boat, then you should head to Anderson Lake or Birkenhead Lake. Both offer great fishing.
