Pemberton Is a Winter Wonderland
The far-below-zero temperatures and clear days have frozen up quite a few lakes and ponds in the Pemberton area. The ever-popular One Mile has been thick enough to skate on for about a week now. The crisp sunny days have made for perfect outdoor ice skating weather, with adults and children alike clamouring to the frozen pond.
But you better get on the ice quickly because the weather may change. The forecast calls for a snowstorm at the end of the weekend which may see temperatures rise and ice melt under heavy snowfall. We can only hope the ice stays in good condition but that's what makes skating on ponds one of the thrills of winter. So bust out those old leather skates and find a pond, you won't be disappointed!
