WSSF Slides Through Whistler!
The World Ski and Snowboard Festival is Coming Soon
And the WSSF is all about inclusivity, so get ready to be included in the action this year - and potentially win some $$$ at the same time.
This year, new for 2016, the World Ski and Snowboard Festival is teaming up with King Snow and Forecast Ski Magazine. They've put together a contest that will bring out your inner video editor and cause you to understand what it feels like to actually participate in WSSF this year.
The Best Clip Contest
Get involved and win a quick $300. All you have to do is grab a friend, camera and your skis or board and get out there on the pow. You can even ditch the friend and film yourself. Even if you don't win the $300, the best clips will be edited together and you'll have a chance to see yourself on the big screen at Intersection on Friday, April 15th.
The film needs to be a maximum 6 seconds long and yes, bails are okay. Film your friend or film yourself on April 9 and/or April 10th and go at 'er. It doesn't matter what you use to film as long as it shoots 1080p. So grab your phone, your camera, whatever.
The Fine Print:
1. You need to register for this event. Register inside the Rendezvous Lodge or Roundhouse Lodge on Saturday, April 9th or Sunday, April 10th between 11:00 and 2:00.
There is no fee - This contest is free.
2. You also need to sign a waiver. When you register, there will be a waiver to sign. This is a requirement.
3. You also need to be wearing the wristband you receive at registration. This wristband needs to be visible in the clip you submit.
4. Submit up to 2 clips (max 6 seconds each) that evening to watermarkwhistler.wetransfer.com. Make sure you include the rider's full name and contact info in the message.
The clips must be horizontal, 16:9, 1080p x 1920p
Clips must be submitted no later than 11:00 pm April 10th.
People's Choice
The audience will have their say after the event on April 15th by following @kingsnowmag and @forecastski and liking the top clips to determine who wins the People's Choice Award.
Not Quite 15 Minutes of Fame
Get out of your comfort zone and take a chance. You might win $300 - and even if you don't win, you might be a star of stage and screen (for 6 seconds). It's not quite your 15 minutes of fame, but it's a great start!
In any case, it's almost time for the World Ski and Snowboard Festival - Time, in other words, to "Party in April; Sleep in May".
