Take a Tour of the Pemberton Distillery

One of the most popular attractions in town is visiting the Pemberton Distillery. The Distillery is known for creating organic vodka, gin, whisky, brandy & liqueurs.

We recently took a tour of the distillery and discovered the process behind distilling Pemberton's delicious spirits. Take a quick photo tour with us as we explore the distillery.

Distillery Tour 1

The tour is led by Master Distiller Tyler Schramm. Tyler along with his two brothers Jonathan and Jake, built the distillery during the winter of 2008. In the spring of 2009 Tyler carefully distilled the first batch of locally grown organic potatoes.

Distillery Tour 2

Since it's inception the distillery has added gin, whisky, brandy, flavoured liqueurs and absinthe to their spirit line. The distillery only uses organic ingredients, almost all of which are grown right here in British Columbia. The most consumed ingredient organic potatoes are grown right here in Pemberton, 15 KMs up the road at Across the Creek Organics. Potatoes are used to produce the Distilleries two most popular spirits, Schramms Vodka & Gin.

Distillery Tour 6

Since 2010 the Pemberton Distillery has been releasing small runs of organic single malt whisky using organic malted barley from British Columbia and pristine mountain water. The whisky ages in American Oak ex-Bourbon casks for a minimum of three years.  The batches are limited and tend to sell out very quickly over the winter months.

Distillery Tour 3

The tour of the Distillery lasts about 30 minutes and is followed by tastings! Every distillery product is available for tasting, here we sample the delicious Schramms Vodka.

Distillery Tour 4

Master Distiller Tyler Schramm (left) and brother Jake (right) take the time to answer any questions we have about the distilling process, ingredients and products. We also take this time to grab a bottle of our favorite gin in the world Schramms Organic Gin!

Take the Tour

The Pemberton Distillery runs tours on Saturday's at 4 PM. During the winter months (Sept - May) you must book by appointment. Contact the distillery in advance via email info@pembertondistillery.ca or phone (604) 894-0222. The tour costs $6 and requires a minimum of 5 people.

The Distillery is also open 12 PM - 6 PM Friday & Saturday for sampling and retail sales.

Directions

The Distillery is located in the Pemberton Industrial Park about a 5 minute drive from town towards the community of Mount Currie. Once your on highway 99 heading towards Mount Currie you will see a large newly constructed pine building on your left, this is your first clue to slow down. Take a left hand turn at the Industrial Park sign and continue straight down the road for 1 KM. Near the end of the road sits the Pemberton Distillery building on the right hand side.
