#BCTourismMatters - It's Tourism Week in B.C
Tourism Champions Celebrate Tourism
This week, business leaders and other tourism champions got together across Canada to celebrate tourism and try to persuade lawmakers to care more about tourism in Canada.
From the fact that there is an effective 40% surcharge on airline prices to Canada due to the government's taxes, fees and levies to the fact that the marketing budget has been drastically cut, the tourism industry in Canada is strong but could be stronger. That's the message that this grassroots initiative wants everyone to hear this week.
Pemberton Valley Lodge Celebrates Tourism
Pemberton Valley Lodge General Manager David MacKenzie was at Sun Peaks Resort (pictured above, left) with the Board of the Tourism Association of BC making the announcement to welcome everyone to participate in Tourism Week from May 29th to June 4th.
Pemberton Valley Lodge knows the importance of having tourism-friendly initiatives in British Columbia that welcome tourists and help, not hinder, them to enter Canada and have a good time while they are here.
This Tourism Week, the Pemberton Valley Lodge is standing with the rest of the grassroots tourism activists who want British Columbia and Canada to be as welcoming as possible to tourists from around the world.
Tourism in Pemberton
This summer, gear up for the many events and adventures in Pemberton. You can be a part of the Subaru Ironman Triathlon, cheering on riders from the Pemberton Valley Lodge.
You can enjoy the third annual Pemberton Music Festival with friends and hear the best music of this generation all from the vantage point of the gorgeous Pemberton Valley.
You can golf while taking in the view of breathtaking Mount Currie. And you can bike, hike and horseback ride along the Pemberton Meadows Road. Don't forget to slow down a bit, too, for Slow Food Cycle Sunday. You wouldn't want to miss that.
Have Fun This Summer in Pemberton
Bottom line, tourism in Pemberton is hopping. There's tons to do, and as more and more people find this gem just beyond Whistler, honestly, things just get better.
From Farmers Markets to local artists selling their wares, from restaurants showcasing farm-to-table food from our many local farms to the Pemberton Bike Co helping as many people get riding as possible, Pemberton is tourist-friendly and a fun place to be this (or any) summer.
