Pemberton Winterfest 2017 Events & Activities
After a successful Pop-up Winterfest on One Mile Lake last Saturday, we're gearing up for the rest of the festivities this weekend from January 20th to 22nd. Last Saturday, residents and visitors gathered at One Mile Lake to use the ice one last time before the warm weather came. Families and friends came to the lake to participate in a number of outdoor activities including; ice fishing, curling, hockey and ice skating.
Couldn't make it last Saturday? Don't worry, there's plenty more to do this weekend coming up! While the ice probably won't be usable after all this rain we've gotten, there are still a bunch of great things to do for Pemberton's Winterfest.
Bonfire & S'mores
There's some good news, folks! It's supposed to clear up a little bit this weekend and dip below freezing again. Hopefully, that means we can go ahead with our One Mile Lake Bonfire where we'll be making hotdogs and s'mores, provided by Pemberton Valley Supermarket, most of the weekend.
Outdoor Movie Night
Come out to the Pemberton Community Barn on Friday night at 6:30pm to enjoy an outdoor movie -- The Great Muppet Caper. Don't forget to bring your blankets, toques, and some mittens so you can stay cozy! We'll have heat lamps and a few chairs on-hand, but we encourage you to bring a camp chair or two. Hot chocolate and popcorn will be provided!
Winterfest Adventure Hunt
We're working hard to create the ultimate Winterfest Adventure Hunt - a mobile app based scavenger hunt around Pemberton. The Adventure Hunt will require teams to check in (via GPS), take photos and answer questions at various locations around town. This Saturday, teams are encouraged to dress up and a smartphone required to download the free app. Check-in from 1-2pm, Adventure Hunt from 2-4pm. Presented by Fix Auto.
Kid's Zone & Winter Market
On Saturday from 1am - 5pm, The Pemberton Community Barn will be transformed into a Kid's Zone -- complete with arts, crafts, face painting, and more. But the barn isn't just for children this Saturday. New to Winterfest this year, the Winter Market will feature a variety of goods and goodies prepared, created and sold by local vendors. The Winter Market will run from 12pm - 4pm at the barn.
Family Dance Party
Another event happening on Saturday at the barn! Bring the whole family out to join us from 4:30pm - 7:30pm and rock to the tunes of our DJ...and yes we'll be bringing our massive 4 foot disco ball once again. Last year's disco glow dance party was a hit, so we're rollin' out the lights, dance floor and fun once again! Snacks will be provided.
Much Music Video Dance
Much Music Video Dance Party! Much Music Video Dance Party! Much Music Video Dance Party! There's not much more to say other than -- It's back! This event is open to 13-18 year olds and will be hosted at the Pemberton Community Centre. The dance will take place from 6pm - 10pm with a $10 entry fee.
