Get into the Holiday Spirit this December!
It's time to break out the Christmas lights and tinsel because the holiday season is finally here! With fresh snow on the ground and plenty of upcoming events, Pemberton and Whistler are the perfect places to spend the winter months. Check out a few holiday events happening this December.
Skating at Whistler Olympic Plaza
Whistler Olympic Plaza has officially opened its outdoor ice skating rink for the season. Come on out for a free skate with the family right in the middle of Whistler Village! Join Jolly Ol' Saint Nick on December 17th on the outdoor ice rink at Whistler Olympic Plaza for Santa Skate. Skate rentals are only $6, and there will be festive treats, hot chocolate, and holiday crafts for kids to do as well.
Pemberton Gingerbread Project
Join in on the holiday fun this year with the 7th annual Pemberton Gingerbread Project! Create and enter your gingerbread masterpiece, or come out to see this year's entries, enjoy a silent auction, and support a good cause.
Starting on Sunday, December 10th, 2017, Gingerbread houses will be on display at the Pemberton Valley Lodge for the community to visit until Wednesday, December 20th. Bring along a non-perishable item to donate to the food bank while you're there. Learn more about the Pemberton Gingerbread Project.
Santa PAWS at Big Sky
Get a family photo with you, your dog, and Santa! The Annual Santa PAWS Fundraiser takes place this December 3rd at Big Sky Golf course. Come out and enjoy a silent auction, cookie decorating for kids, a viewing of Santa PAWS the movie, hot chocolate by the fire, and more.
The Whistler Holiday Experience
This December 22nd to January 7th, the Whistler Conference Centre will be turned into the Whistler Holiday Experience! This indoor event includes a wide range of fun, indoor activities and entertainment for kids and parents together during the holiday season. Bring out the kids from 10 am to 6 pm to enjoy a mini putt course, bouncy castles, table games, crafts, video games, and more, all for free over the holiday break. Parents can relax in the lounge area and enjoy a coffee while the kids play. The Whistler Holiday Experience is closed December 25th, 31st, and January 1st.
Orphan Christmas Party
Nobody to spend Christmas with this year? Don't worry; you're not alone! Plenty of residents and guests in Whistler and Pemberton are away from their families during the holidays. That's why Whistler Public Library has the Orphan's Christmas Party on December 12th! Enjoy a free night of gingerbread house decorating, Christmas tunes, delicious treats, and a screening of the holiday classic - Die Hard.
