It’s Time For The 7th Annual Gingerbread Project
Join in on the holiday fun this year with the 7th annual Pemberton Gingerbread Project! Create and enter your gingerbread masterpiece, or come out to see this year's entries, enjoy a silent auction, and support a good cause.
Starting on Sunday, December 10th, 2017, Gingerbread houses will be on display at the Pemberton Valley Lodge for the community to visit until Wednesday, December 20th. Bring along a non-perishable item to donate to the food bank while you're there.
One of the best parts of this holiday tradition is that all proceeds go to benefit the Pemberton Food Bank. Last year, the Gingerbread Project raised $13,000 to give to the food bank, surpassing 2015 total of $10,000 raised. This 11-day event has only seen growth in the community since its inception almost a decade ago.
Pemberton businesses are encouraged to build a gingerbread house that will be raffled off for charity. The public is invited to come and bid on the gingerbread creations and bring in non-perishable food items for the food bank.
Would you like to enter the Gingerbread Project this year? All businesses, organizations, and individuals are welcome to submit their Gingerbread Project creation to the Pemberton Valley Lodge on Saturday, December 9th! There is a $10 entry fee.
Take a look at some of the best entries from past Gingerbread Projects below:
Your creations will then be viewed by residents and Lodge guests, who will be voting on the winner of ‘Best Display’. The winner doesn’t only get to hold the highly esteemed title of the best display. They will also be going home with two tickets to see the Vancouver Canucks play, plus one-night accommodation in Vancouver!
Family Day With Santa
Come out and view all the incredible gingerbread houses, sip hot chocolate, and enjoy Family Day at the Pemberton Valley Lodge on Saturday, December 16th. Bring the kids and get your family photo taken with Santa from 1 PM to 3 PM at the Pemberton Valley Lodge. Last year, Santa had over 100 kids visit him for photos so be sure to get here quick!
Stuff a Cruiser
Help stuff an RCMP cruiser full of food bank donations this December 16th! Part of Family Day, the cruiser will be parked in town at Scotiabank from 11 AM - 1 PM and then will relocate to Pemberton Valley Lodge from 1 PM - 3 PM. Bring everything you got and let's cram this cruiser full!
