Check Out Pemberton Library's Movie Nights
The snow is back! February has given us a massive amount of the white stuff – Pemberton is basically a giant snowbank. This is great news for all the sports enthusiasts who want to hit up the backcountry. Check out all the winter activities has to offer!
But for those of you who aren’t exactly thrilled about the second coming of winter, the Pemberton Library has something for you. Get out of the cold this Friday evening with a free movie night at the library.
With increasing popularity in the community, the Pemberton and District Public Library has been putting on free monthly movies. This is held on the third Friday of every month during the winter months. The show starts at 7PM and popcorn will be available!
This is a great alternative for a movie night when you don’t want to drive all the way to Whistler. They also feature a family movie matinee held on the second Saturday of every month.
On February 17th, pack the kleenex and come out for some free popcorn and a screening of 'The Light Between Oceans' – starring Michael Fassbender & Alicia Vikander – based on the bestselling novel by M.L Stedman.
Tom (Michael Fassbender) is a World War I veteran who maintains a lighthouse off the shore of Australia with his wife Isabel (Alicia Vikander), a woman desperate to have a baby. Her prayers are answered when an infant washes up on shore in a rowboat. Tom thinks they should notify the authorities but ultimately gives in to Isabel's wish to keep the girl. Fate strikes again when the couple meet the child's biological mother on the mainland. Now, Tom and Isabel must make a decision that will forever affect the lives of four people.
But movie nights aren’t the only thing happening at the library this 2017, they have plenty of activities open to the community happening every week including children’s story time, book clubs, and chess.
