6 Things To Do In Pemberton This Valentine's Day

Cross Country Skiing
Pemberton and area offers a variety of cross country trails and backcountry nordic skiing. Many of the ski trails are found along logging and hiking trails through the trees in the backcountry and spread by word-of-mouth, but the area does have a few groomed courses.
Spud Valley Loppet
The 27th Spud Valley Loppet is a 10km/5km cross country ski race on the Black Tail Meadows trail. Located 20km from the Pemberton Supermarket, Black Tail Meadows offers a nicely groomed track that goes through several private properties in the Pemberton Valley. The Spud Valley Loppet is made to celebrate nordic skiing and winter activities in the Pemberton & District area. The event takes place on February 12th and is open to various age categories.

Nairn Falls Trail
Located just 3 minutes south of Pemberton is Nairn Falls Provincial Park. In the summer, it offers a hiking trail up to the waterfalls, but in the winter the trails is a great cross-country ski location. The groomed trails are free to use for the entire winter season, and maintained by volunteers of the Spud Valley Nordic Association.
Meadows Road Trails
Other cross-country ski trails are available approximately 13 km up Pemberton Meadows Road on private property, yet made available to the public. The trail system is very popular and groomed by volunteers, but is a little bit of a "local's secret." You'll want to ask around for precise directions.
Backcountry Skiing
Some of the finest backcountry ski terrain in Southern BC lies just east of Pemberton where Highway 99 climbs through the Cayoosh Range and runs past Duffey Lake. The highway gives easy access to numerous avalanche paths, open ridges, meadows, glaciers and attractive alpine basins that offer superb mid-winter backcountry skiing. Ski trips start at higher elevations from the paved highway and range from sleuthing for powder near the road to high-alpine ski ascents.

Heli Skiing
Coast Range Heliskiing specializes in small groups with a maximum of 5. Experience fresh untracked powder, no lift lines and small groups so you can spend more time skiing and riding. Coast Range Heliskiing will take you to some incredible terrain in the Pemberton and Whistler area.

Hot Springs
Just sit back, relax, and enjoy all the beautiful views of British Columbia's natural hot spring system. Pemberton is located close to a handful of natural hot springs where people can experience the outdoor hot tubs for themselves. These aren't always the easiest to get to but they're very worth it.
Keyhole Hot Springs
One of the most popular places in the Pemberton area is Keyhole Hot Springs. This amazing natural hot springs is located up the Pemberton Meadows, deep down the Meager Creek Forestry Road. A newly renovated trail has been installed in the area, allowing you to complete the hike one way in about 35 minutes. Driving time from Pemberton to the hot springs 1 hour 15 minutes - one way!
Sloquet Hot Springs
Sloquet Hot Springs is a set of shallow, man-made pools fed by a small, all natural, and very hot, waterfall. The pools stretch from the waterfall to the large and crashing Sloquet River. The large, spread out campsite for the hot springs is only a short 5 minute walk from the springs!
Ice Fishing
Ice fishing is a great winter sport that Pemberton has to offer, spending a day on a frozen lake after a tough day on the slopes is a great way to rejuvenate. The scenery of a high mountain lake will take your breath away and there is something to be said about looking into your ice hole and watching a 5 pound Rainbow Trout take your lure.

Dine and Dance in The Dark
Pemberton Lions Club is hosting Dine and Dance In The Dark this February 11th. Come on down to the Pemberton Legion on Saturday to enjoy an experience of the senses. Enjoy a four-course dinner prepared by professional chefs, James Linklater and Wade Wright. Then dance the night away listening to the hits from the 50's, 60's, and 70's.
