PORCA Hosts 1st Mackenzie Cruise Mountain Bike Race
Are you ready for a good old fashioned downhill race? Well, this September 17th, 2017 the Pemberton Off Road Cycling Association (PORCA) will be holding the very first Mackenzie Cruise mountain bike race. It's been a great year for mountain biking in Pemberton, with plenty of nice days and more than enough trails to ride, the Mackenzie Cruise will be a great way to end the summer season.
PORCA, along with Chromag, Pemberton Taco Company, and Santa Cruz Bicycles will be sponsoring the first ever Mackenzie Cruise. Participants will race from the top of the Mackenzie Cruise trail to the Pemberton Gravel Pit, competing for the best time. The course includes both the Upper and Lower Mackenzie Cruise trails.
You can take a peek at what the Upper Mackenzie Cruise looks like in the video below. Or head over to Trail Forks for an in-depth trail map.
The Mackenzie Cruise will start at the Pemberton Gravel Pit at 10am on Sunday, September 17th. You better register for the race quickly because it's limited to 100 participants. Race entry is $5 but you must be a PORCA member, which will only cost you $30. Not a Pemberton Off Road Cycling Association member yet? You can register on the official PORCA website.
After the race you can join in on the celebrations at the Pemberton Community Barn. Share race stories, get prizes, eat delicious tacos, and enjoy live music from Whole Lotta Led. The after party is open to everybody so bring your kids, invite your friends and have a great Sunday summer night. The Whole Lotta Led show will start at 8pm for only a $10 cover.
