3 New Ski Movies That Were Filmed in Whistler

2017 was a big year for Whistler Blackcomb with Vail Resorts taking over and plenty of updates and renovations planned for the future. Last year, we also saw a bunch of great ski and snowboard movies come out with Whistler Blackcomb as the backdrop. If you haven't had a chance to watch these ski movies yet, now is your chance! Take a look at a few of the movies below!

Magnetic: A Whistler Blackcomb Movie

Magnetic is the first-ever, full-length, ski and snowboard movie filmed completely within one ski area! This wonderful showcase of Whistler Blackcomb, filmed last year, is entirely shot in areas accessible with a lift ticket. Watch the best local skiers and riders hitting big lines and massive powder shots all over both mountains. Complete with a park segment and an alluring night sequence, Magnetic features; Stan Rey, Justin Lamoureux, Jesse Millen, James Heim, Craig McMorris, Eric Hjorleifson, Evan McEachran, Helen Schettini, Ian Morrison, KC Deane, Teal Harle, Robin Van Gyn, Dean Bercivitch, Mikey Ciccarelli, Logan Pehota, Matty Richard, Devun Walsh, Annie Boulanger PY LeBlanc,, and more. Magnetic is here to show you the powerful draw of Whistler Blackcomb!

Numinous featuring Kye Petersen & More

Born and raised in the Whistler backcountry, Kye Petersen is one of the most talented freeskiers of our age. Shot exclusively in British Columbia, Numinous follows Petersen along with Logan Pehota, Matty Richard, Dane Tudor, Wiley Miller, Callum Pettit, Chris Rubens, Pep Fujas, and Ryland Bell in some of the most visually stunning landscapes on earth. You can learn more about Numinous, a 45 minute ski film by Dendrite Studios, and the talented local Whistler and Pemberton skiers involved by visiting one of our previous blog posts.

You can still catch a public screening of Numinous on February 15th, 2018 in Pemberton, BC at the Pemberton Library!

Farm to Table: A Curtis Ciszek and Iikka Backstrom Movie

Hailed as "the chillest snowboard movie you'll watch all year", Farm to Table is fun, carefree, and full of hijinks. Filmed in the backcountry of Oregon, Whistler, and B.C.'s interior, Curtis Ciszek and Iikka Backstrom show us just how much fun you can have in the mountains with friends. Coming in at just under 15 minutes with a soundtrack ranging from Social Distortion and Young Jeezy, to Tina Turner and Elvis, Farm to Table is a raw portrayal of two friends who just love the sport. The film also features Austin Smith, Jared Elston, Bryan Fox, Tyler Orton, Ben Ferguson, Jake Price, Devun Walsh, Mark McMorris, Blake Paul, and more.

Whistler Alternative

When visiting Whistler, consider staying at Pemberton Valley Lodge. We offer several advantages over Whistler hotels…

 1  Only 20 minutes

You can get to the Village faster from our Lodge than you can from some parts of Whistler Resort.

 2  Save money

Whistler hotels typically charge for parking. We don't. And you get bigger rooms for your dollar.

 3  Ski shuttle

Our complimentary shuttle bus runs daily from the Lodge to and from Whistler Blackcomb.
