History

Big Sky Golf Course first opening to the public in 1994. It was designed by Robert Cupp. Robert Cupp has a great amount of experience as a golf course designer. He has worked closely alongside Jack Nicklaus for a number of years and has designed over 140 courses.

The large steel artwork at Big Sky Golf is one of the many reasons as to why this golf course is so unique. Metallic Art was created by Italian-Canadian artist Davide Pan. His work is also on permanent display at the Venice Museum of Modern Art.

Location

Big Sky Golf Course is located in the idyllic Pemberton. Driving 20 minutes north of the world famous Whistler on the beautiful Highway 99, you’ll arrive in our stunning town. With Mount Currie as the backdrop, snowy peaks in the distance and lush fields of crops, you’ll understand why people love Pemberton so much.

The course itself is just as beautiful as the surrounding landscape. The course hugs the base of towering mountains while the flowering fescue grasses and plants add a splash of color.

Course Details

This professionally designed 18-hole golf course is the longest course in the area. There’s also a 350-yard, double-ended driving range, two practice bunkers, and three practice putting greens, and the Big Sky Golf Academy, one of western Canada’s top teaching facilities

The CPGA (Canadian Professional Golfers Association) Professional Team in the Pro shop can help you get the perfect club fit. They use the most up to date techniques and equipment to ensure that you receive the best fit possible.

Pricing

Big Sky Golf Course has a range of pricing options. Low season prices are as little as $49, while during busy times in peak season, passes go for $159. Local rates for Whistler and Pemberton residents are $49 for 18 holes after 3 pm. Every Wednesday there is a special for BC residents, $75 for 18 holes any time of day.

If you don’t fancy playing a full round of golf, you can still hit some balls at the driving range. A bucket of balls costs $10 while a full range season pass will set you back $349.

Opening Times

Big Sky Golf Course opens on April 27th this year and the course is open for play from dawn to dusk.

Food and Drink

Fescues Restaurant

Local Farm-to-Table ingredients inspire this tasty menu at Fescues Restaurant. Hearty enough to satisfy yet delicate enough to delight. Large mains of braised pork back ribs, teriyaki salmon and calamari and nachos to share. With unparalleled views of Mount Currie and surrounding peaks, some say the setting is just as beautiful as the menu. This alone attracts golfers and even non-golfers to Big Sky Golf Course. There's also live music on during the summer, so check out the events page on their website for all upcoming sets.

Weddings

Big Sky Golf Course is also a popular venue for weddings. This is in no small part due to the incredible views which make the perfect setting for wedding photos. While the golf course is closed during winter, you can still have your wedding here when the snow falls. With horse-drawn sleigh rides. fireside patio, ice-skating and snowshoeing, you'll see why people come here for their perfect fairytale wedding.

They also have brilliant staff on hand to make your perfect day to go as smoothly as possible. The head Chef will help design a menu that is crafted for you and your guests. They also have a vast amount of experience in dealing with some of the finest wedding planners and resources in the area.

Wedding ceremonies can be held on the first tee of the executive golf course, or on the beautiful outdoor deck, overlooking the 18th green.
