The snowy season is still here folks and there’s lots of fun ski and snowboard events coming up in Whistler. Whistler Blackcomb is everybody’s favourite mountain resort so why not take part in a competition while you’re here.
Oakley Week
February 12 - 16, 2020
Oakley Week is returning to Whistler Blackcomb this February 12th to 16th for its 5th year. This event gives skiers and boarders a chance to check out new mountain equipment and so much more!
Peak to Valley Race - Warm Up
February 16, 2020
Get ready for the always exciting Peak to Valley race with a warm up competition. Complete with awards and draw prizes the Peak to Valley Race Warm Up is geared towards recreational and competitive racers.
Peak to Valley Race
February 21 & 22, 2020
Returning for its 36th annual appearance, the Peak to Valley race is the longest Giant Slalom race on earth. Co-ed teams of 4 will race over 5km down Whistler Mountain in this unique GS race which has 180 gates and a vertical drop of 1,443 metres!
Two members from every team will race each day, with the oldest competitors starting first, to see who will be crowned the Peak to Valley champion in 2020.
Ski & Snowboard Snowcross - U14
February 29 - March 1, 2020
This recreational ski and boarder snowcross competition is open to kids between the ages of 9 and 13 years old. Skiers and snowboarders compete in different age, gender, and discipline divisions on the Whistler Blackcomb Terrain Park Snowcross course.
Kokanee Valley Race Series
February 13 & 27 | March 5 & 12, 2020
Open to skiers, tele-markers, and boarders of all ages and experience levels, the Kokanee Valley Race Series is held on Thursdays throughout the season. The only prerequisite to join in is a desire to participate. Plus, everyone is eligible to win great prizes and awards!
Whistler Blackcomb National Junior Freeride Challenge
March 19 - 22, 2020
This IFSA sanctioned event challenges competitors to shred big mountain terrain, while judges score them based on style, control, technique, fluidity, and line choice. The first day of the National Junior Freeride Challenge is a mandatory athlete meeting, inspection, and training day, followed by two days of qualifiers and a day of finals.
