Summer Family-Friendly Activities in Pemberton

Skate Boarding
Pemberton Skatepark is a magnet for daredevil kids during the summer. The skatepark can be found in town at Portage Road and Cottonwood Street. The skatepark was built in 2011 and has some unique features. Beginner skaters will love the wide-open park with lots of areas suitable for kids who are just starting their skating journey.
While more advanced skaters can take advantage of some cool features like the bowl, ‘deathbox’, and the over-the-vert section. Parents can relax on the benches as their kids get their adrenaline fixes!
Biking for Kids in Pemberton
People come from far and wide to ride the bike trails here in Pemberton. Pro riders love the steep technical trails here, but did you know that we also have some family-friendly bike trails? There are several green bike trails at Mile One Lake, these are the easiest bike trails. Sea-to-Sky Trail, Piece of Cake and Overhill are all suitable for any level of rider. If your kids are good riders, they can ride a blue trail like Break-Away or if they’re advanced riders they can try Lumpy’s Epic, this trail is long, technical, and difficult!
Pemberton Museum
The Pemberton Museum is a must for any visitor! Kids imaginations will run wild when they see all the amazing artifacts on show here. The Pemberton Museum documents human history in Pemberton through displaying antiques, relics, photos and a thorough archive. You’ll find old instruments used by gold prospectors, tools used by Indigenous people and even clothing from some of the earliest settlers in the town of Pemberton.
Narin Falls
Narin Falls is a great family attraction. The falls are really impressive and the hike to them is relatively flat. The falls are located a few minutes south of Pemberton on Highway 99. There’s ample parking and some basic facilities available here too. The hiking trail to the falls winds its way alongside Green River and is suitable for kids of most ages. The surface can be uneven in places, but it is not an extreme hike. The trail ends at a lookout point at the falls. Kids will love getting so close to the thundering waterfall!
Pemberton Barn Dance
The Barn Dance is a highlight of the Pemberton social calendar. The barn dance takes place at the end of summer here in September. The family-friendly event features live music and dancing well into the night. Dust off your cowboy hat and get down for the line dancing and country music from The Chris Buck Band.
Tickets will be available in August, make sure you get your hands on some!
One Mile Lake
Mile One Lake lies at the very heart of Pemberton. Some local businesses are even named after the much-loved lake! Families love the lake because of all the amazing activities you can do here! Kids love jumping into the lake on a hot summer's day, which is great because they’ll work up a sweat exploring the hiking trails around the lake. And when the kids are swimming, the parents can relax on the small beach and take in the stunning mountain views.
North Arm Farm
Do your kids love animals? Have they ever been to a working farm? North Arm Farm in Pemberton is perfect for a family day out! You can pick your own berries, explore the farm buildings, and buy some fresh produce. But if you ask us the real attraction here are the animals! You’ll find pigs, chickens, sheep and more on the farm.
