The Pemberton Valley typically experiences very dry weather in
the summer. Winters in Pemberton are typically moisture-laden with
snow and rain. The Pemberton area is referred to as a
Coast-Interior Transition zone. The area is ecologically complex
and diverse. Prevailing winds in the valley typically move from
west to east. When winds hit the mountains in the area this
typically results in a wet zone on the windward slopes and a driver
zone on leeward slopes.
Pemberton is located a short distance north of Whistler.
However, Pemberton's weather can be quite different than Whistler.
When it's raining or snowing in Whistler the Pemberton Valley may
often be sunny and warmer. The area is typically 3 to 20 degrees
(℃) warmer than Whistler.
