Every October, Whistler’s crisp autumn air and golden trails set the stage for one of British Columbia’s most anticipated running events, the Whistler 50 Relay & Ultra Marathon.
On October 4, 2025, runners from across the province and beyond will gather at Whistler Olympic Plaza to take part in a day that blends endurance sport with mountain community spirit.
The Whistler 50 isn’t just for elite athletes. It’s designed to welcome all runners—whether you’re chasing a podium finish or sharing the trail with friends for a memorable day outdoors.
50-Mile (80k) Team Relay
50k Solo Ultra
All courses start and finish at Whistler Olympic Plaza, where runners hand off between teammates—or mentally gear up for their next loop.
The Lost Lake trails are the heart of the Whistler 50. Each loop winds through a forested network of paths with glimpses of alpine lakes and mountain views. Between runs, relay teams can enjoy the easy pace of Whistler Village—grabbing a coffee, strolling the shops, or cheering from the beer garden.
No matter the finish time, every runner and supporter is invited to celebrate at the Finish Line Party:
At 4 PM, the plaza fills again for the official awards ceremony, where competitors gather to applaud podium finishers and share in the camaraderie that makes this event unique.
The Whistler 50 is more than just a race, it’s a shared experience:
Registration is available through BC Athletics. Spaces usually fill up quickly, so we recommend signing up early.
After a full day of running (or cheering), retreating to a peaceful, spacious suite makes all the difference. Just 20 minutes north of Whistler, Pemberton Valley Lodge offers the perfect balance:
Our lodge has long been a supporter of local sport and community events, and we’re proud to welcome participants, their families, and supporters each fall for the Whistler 50 weekend.
